Cool Plate

Bambu Cool Plate consists of a cool plate sheet and the Engineering Plate. Both sides of the plate are available for printing.
The cool plate sheet is made of PC and features a smooth surface. The PC sheet is attached to the engineering plate using 3M high heat-resistant double-sided tape. It is only suitable for printing PLA filament. However, when printing other materials such as PETG or ABS, issues like bubbling and sticking may arise. It is important to note that when printing PLA on the Cool Plate, it is necessary to apply a Bambu glue stick or liquid glue for proper adhesion.

High Temperature Plate

Bambu High Temperature Plate consists of a High Temperature plate sheet and the Engineering Plate. Both sides of the plate are available for printing.
The high-temperature sheet is made of PEI, which has a smooth surface and a fine matte texture. The PEI sheet is attached to the engineering plate using 3M high-heat-resistant double-sided tape. Compared to a PC sheet used for the Cool Plate, PEI material offers better heat resistance and is less prone to creep under high temperatures. As a result, it provides better compatibility with various filaments.
When printing different kinds of filaments, it is highly recommended to use adhesive (Bambu glue stick or liquid glue is recommended) to ensure proper adhesion between the filaments and the build plate. This is important as it helps avoid the risk of cracking the high-temperature sheet. 

Engineering Plate

Engineering Plate is manufactured by applying a special thermosetting coating onto spring steel, resulting in a printing plate that is stronger than PC and PEI sheets. It is particularly well-suited for printing engineering materials. However, one disadvantage of this build plate is that strict adherence to adhesive usage is necessary (Bambu glue stick or liquid glue is recommended). Without proper adhesive application, the plate is prone to insufficient adhesion, which can lead to print failures.

Textured PEI Plate

Textured PEI Plate is created by powder coating a stainless steel sheet with a layer of PEI powder, resulting in a textured surface on both sides. The distinctive feature of the Textured PEI Plate is its special rough texture, which imparts the same texture to the bottom surface of the printing. The Textured PEI Plate is suitable for a wide range of materials and often exhibits excellent adhesion without applying adhesives, making it convenient to use. Additionally, the PEI coating on the surface of the plates is highly durable and has a long service life.

Due to surface roughness, there may be a risk of flow calibration and first-layer detection failure on X1 Series printers. We are continuing to improve the relevant algorithm.

Summary

Our Cool Plate and the High Temperature Plate are made on the basis of dual-sided Engineering Plates. One side is attached with a cool plate sheet and a high temperature sheet, which creates a Cool Plate and a High Temperature Plate respectively. As a result, you can see either the Cool Plate or the High Temperature Plate with an Engineering Plate on the other side. The sheets can be replaced according to your different requirements. Note:
If you are printing on a Cool Plate and the High Temperature Plat or Engineering Plate, before starting printing please apply a thin layer of our official glue stick or liquid glue to the plate first (Third-party glues are strongly discouraged and may cause damage to the plate). For the correct gluing procedure, please check How to Use Bambu Lab Glue. Ensure that the print adheres properly to the plate without damaging the surface of the plate by sticking too tightly to the plate (otherwise the sheet will bubble or crack).

Alternatively, we also offer the Textured PEI Plates, which you can print on without using a glue stick.
